Merry Christmas 2007 people!!! I've uploaded some photos taken during the services. I didn't go for all the services, so please update this entry if you have photos I've not included them here!
Anyway, I want to share something about the candlelite service. It is a revelation I got last year. I thought the candlelite service was a very good analogy of Jesus Christ coming to Earth to light up the darkness in our lives.
Initially, our whole world was like the auditorium- All dark and without hope. But because of Jesus and because of the few lives he touched, the lives of these people began to light up. Soon, this fire spread from people to people and soon, everyone's candle was lighted up.
But, the whole thing didn't stop here. Even though the hall was full of litted candle, some of my neighbour's candle and even my own one was extingushed by the strong air-con current quite a few times.
But each time someone's candle went off, the ones around him would relight it for him.
In our Christian walk, we often face with discouragement, challenges, temptations and disappointments. Sometimes, bad things would happen to us so quickly and abundantly that we don't know how to react. Sometimes, we just feel like throwing in the towel and quit. Sometimes, the flame in our lives will be extinguished.
Then in our dark and silent moment, our close friends or our cell group member would come to us, stand in between the gap and light up our world again.
Yup. It's wonderful to be in the company of people who loves God. Let's continue to take this little light of Christ and shine it at all the dark corners!
